Cardamine lyrata is actually a marsh plant from Japan. But it is also a familiar aquarium plant which thrives underwater with 20-50 cm long stems. A characteristic trailing growth form makes it highly decorative, and 'aerial' roots often form on the plant itself. Plant in groups, and make sure the water temperature does not exceed 28 ℃ (This makes the leaves much smaller and the plant leggier). Also suitable in garden ponds in the summer.

논냉이는 실제로 일본에서 온 습지 식물이다. 그러나, 이 수초는 20-50 cm길이의 줄기를 가지며, 번식하는 수중 식물로도 익숙하다. 길게 연이어 자라는 이 수초의 특징은 장식효과에도 탁월하다. 논냉이는 기근(공기뿌리)를 자주 형성한다. 그룹으로 자라며, 수온이 28℃을 넘지 않도록 해야한다. (28℃가 넘으면 잎은 훨씬 더 작아지고 잘게 자란다). 여름에 정원 연못을 위한 식물로도 적합하다.
