Hygrophila pinnatifida originates from India. It obtains brown, patched leaves on the surface with a distinctive burgundy color underneath. It creates horizontal side shoots and the top shoots should be pinched out in order to maintain compact and attractive growth. The horizontal side shoots easily attach to both wood and rock. Growth is moderate, stems 15-40 cm tall and 10-20 cm wide, and the color is attractive when planted in small groups with a plain background. Intense lighting ensures compact growth due to the plant's slow to medium growth rate.

하이그로필라 피나티피다는 인도에서 왔다. 이 수초는  물 속에서는 독특한 진홍색이며, 수면 위에서는 잎이 부분적으로 갈색이다. 그리고 수평 방향으로 싹이  돋아나고 위 쪽 싹은 카페트 형태의 레이아웃을 얻기위해서 뽑아줘야 한다. 수평 방향 싹은 쉽게 나무오 돌 따위에 활착한다. 성장속도는 중간이고 줄기는 크기가 15-40 cm, 폭이 10-20cm이다.  열린 뒷 공간에서 작은 규모로 심었을 때 색상이 굉장히 매력적이다. 이 수초의 느리거나 보통 정도의 성장 속도 때문에 강한 빛에서 조밀하게 성장한다.
