Staurogyne repens is a fresh green, compact and hardy plant for the foreground of the aquarium and it was found in River Rio Cristalino in the southern Amazonas. Its nearest relative in the aquaristic is Hygrophila but Saurogyne is different with its marked compact, low and bushy stature (5-10 cm) and small green leaves (each stem is 3-4 wide). During planting in the aquarium, the longest upright shoots should be cut off and new horizontally creeping shoots will soon form from the plant basis and gradually colonize the gravel.

스트로징 레펜스는 수조의 전경으로써 밝은 녹색의 조밀하고 강한 식물이다. 그리고 이 수초는 남아마존의 리오 강 유역에서 발견된다. 이 수초의 물생활 측면에서 가장 가까운 수초는 하이그로필라지만, 스트로징은 조밀하고 덤불 (5-10cm)이며, 작은 녹색 잎(각 줄기는 폭이 3-4 cm)이다. 수조에서 키우는 동안 가장 길게 곧은 싹은 잘라주고 새로운 수평으로 번지는 싹은 곧 번식 할 것이다.  그리고 점진적으로 자갈에 군을 형성 할 것이다.
