The Latin name means "the plant with the round leaves". But this only applies to the marsh variety, which has circular leaves.

라틴이름은 "둥근 잎을 가진 식물"이라는 의미이다. 그러나 이 둥근 잎은 습지환경에서 있는 종에만 해당한다.

Rotala rotundifolia from South-East Asia has long, thin leaves and 15-30 cm long stems, 2-3 cm wide including the leaves. Unlike other Rotala species, it is relatively undemanding, although it needs good light to produce red leaves. It forms side shoots willingly, becoming compact and bushy. This also means that it is hard for light to reach the lower leaves, so the plant should be pruned frequently.

로탈라 로툰디폴리아아는 동남아시아에서 왔으며 긴 잎을 포함해서 15-30 cm길이와 2-3cm의 줄기를 가지고 있다. 다른 종류의 로탈라와는 달리 상대적으로 까다롭지 않지만, 붉은 잎을 만들기 위해서는 풍부한 광량이 필요한다. 이 수초는 옆으로 싹을 내며, 조밀하고 덤불모양으로 자란다. 이러한 현상은 빛이 아래에 도달하기 힘들다는 의미인데, 따라서 자주 가지치기를 해줘야 한다.
