Heteranthera zosterifolia from South America is an extremely beautiful plant which forms a lot of side shoots and thus quickly forms a bushy plant group. Stems can become 30-50 cm tall and 6-12 cm wide. In strong light growth is intensive, and the plant must be pruned before it becomes so compact that no light reaches the lower leaves. Water roots often form on the stem. In open aquariums, it forms small blue flowers if some shoots are allowed to spread on the surface.

남아메리카에서 온 헤테란테라 조스테리폴리아는 많은 새싹을 형성하며, 게다가 덤블 같은 식물 군을 빨리 형성하므로써 정말 아름다운 수이다. 줄기는 30-50 cm 높이, 6-12 cm 너비까지 자란다. 강한 빛에서의 성장은 격렬하며, 이 수초는 밑 부분의 잎이 도달하지 않을 정도 빽빽하게 자라기 전에 솎아줘야 한다. 줄기에서 자주 물뿌리가 형성 된다. 열린 수조에서, 헤테란테라 조스테리폴리아의 일부 싹이 표면에 퍼지면, 작은 푸른색 꽃을 피운다.
